Based on the election cycles completed and your feedback, PERB drafted proposed amendments to the current administrative rules regarding elections.  Additionally, we drafted proposed rule amendments to address H.F. 291 provisions that we had not previously addressed.  PERB intends to propose these rule changes in a new notice.  A public hearing is scheduled for March 22, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., at the Jessie Parker Building, Vocational Rehabilitation Starkweather Conference Room.  Some highlights include, but are not limited to the following:

Chapter 4-changes are mainly structural to match Chapter 5 and are not substantive;

Chapter 5-contain substantive changes to voter eligibility, lists, and challenges as well as adding a registration requirement;

Chapter 6-the deadlines for filing a stipulation or petition regarding public safety status have been extended;

Chapter 7-new rules are added to reflect requirements of H.F. 291 when a new governor is elected; and, 

Chapter 13-reflects the mediator confidentiality in arbitration proceedings pursuant to H.F. 291.
