III. Public Comment (Citizens are allowed to speak on any agenda item or general  operation of the agency with the exception of item (VI.) and any other pending cases.  Members of the public are allowed a 2 minute limit per speaker)

IV. Office status
     * Approve FY 2019 PERB budget request
     * Discuss Westlaw subscription renewal
     * Reporting of September election results
     * Discuss other matters related to September and October recertification elections
V. Consider new and pending Cases  (Board may go into closed session pursuant to
Iowa Code Sec. 21.5(1)(d),(f) if applicable)
     * None
VI. New Business ( Board may go into closed session pursuant to Iowa Code Section  21.5(1)(a),(i) if applicable)
     * None
VII. Next tentative meeting date is Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Jessie Parker Building.

Present at meeting: Cormack, Van Fossen, Gannon, Bolte, DeSmet, Berry, Machir, Sarajlija, Luttrell

Public present:  Ann Smisek, Jay Smith, Scott Utech, Art Eggers, John Dowd, Alicia Gieck

I. Gannon moved to approve the agenda, Van Fossen seconded; unanimously approved.

II. Gannon moved to approve the September 13, 2017 minutes, Van Fossen seconded; unanimously approved.

III. Public Comment: None

IV. Office status
     * Discussed outstanding election fees with no evidence of submission prior to deadline and the pending revocations of certification and outstanding election fees where there is evidence of submission prior to Sept. 11 deadline.   DeSmet asked when the Order of Revocations should be done.  Board agreed as soon as possible.
     * Discussed extensions of contracts and the effect on pending recertification elections.  If the parties have reached a settlement for their collective bargaining contract, and PERB is notified prior to the Direction of Election, PERB will cease election.

V. Consider new and pending Cases  (Board may go into closed session pursuant to Iowa Code Sec. 21.5(1)(d),(f) if applicable)
     * None
VI. New Business ( Board may go into closed session pursuant to Iowa Code section 21.5(1)(a),(i) if  applicable)
     * None
