How do I request interest arbitration?

On July 1, 2024, PERB duties were assigned to the Emploment Appeal Board (EAB). Effective December 3, iowaperb.iowa.gov will no longer be available and all information will be found at the EAB's website, eab.iowa.gov.
If the parties do not resolve their impasse at mediation, either party may request
arbitration services. This request can be made ten days after the effective date of the
appointment of the mediator, which is the date of the mediation session. If the request is
made early, PERB holds the request until the tenth day.The request must be in writing using
the “request for impasse services” form prescribed by PERB. A fillable PDF version of this
form can be found under FORMS. An original and one copy of the request for arbitration
shall be filed with PERB.
